Following the Portland Trail Blazers Game 4 loss at the hands of the Golden State Warriors in their best-of-seven second round NBA Playoffs series, the TNT crew on Inside the NBA took a look at the game tape and offered the opinions on the Trail Blazers fourth quarter meltdown, Stephen Curry‘s overtime mastery and one of the best NBA games of the season.
Here’s a look at some of the top quotes from the TNT analysts including what Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson and Charles Barkley had to say about the Blazers.
Ernie Johnson on Stephen Curry’s overtime performance: “It’s crazy!”
Charles Barkley on Stephen Curry’s overtime performance: “I’ve been here 16 years … and one time I saw LeBron James score 29 out of 30 points [for the Cleveland Cavaliers] I said, ‘that’s the most impressive thing I’ve seen in person,’ … [Stephen Curry] was on the same level, man. That was crazy. That’s unbelievable.”
Kenny Smith on Stephen Curry’s overtime performance: “The face that he was doing what he did, but then to display the confidence that he did verbally, physically, and animated-wise… I was like, ‘that’s a bad dude.'”
Shaquille O’Neal on Stephen Curry’s overtime performance: “With normal guys, when they come back after a couple weeks it takes you a game or two to get it going. It took him a quarter and then once he got it going he said, ‘I’m back!'”
Charles Barkley on the game: “The game itself was great. Lillard and McCollum hit some big shots. They obviously didn’t shoot a good percentage, but I’m glad we got to watch this game, man. That was incredible.”
“This guy, man. This debate about who is the greatest shooter. I think that’s pretty much in the bag.”
Kenny Smith on the game: “Man, I’m just speechless.”
Charles Barkley wraps things up: “I think what makes it so unbelievable, and Steve Kerr said it… [Stephen Curry] hasn’t played a basketball game in two weeks, so even in the last couple of days when you know he might come back… to come into an NBA game and play [36 minutes] when you’re only supposed to play 25, it’s one of the most incredible things.”
